Don't Worry About Us je první výstavou uměleckého kolektivu Various Artists (BE) v České republice. V Nevan Contempo představí site-specific instalace dotýkající se environmentálních, společenských a ekonomických témat. Řada prací a objektů vychází z projektu Água com Gas. Tento projekt je poetickou studií, která již od roku 2015 mapuje různorodou problematiku na téma vody, její privatizace, znečištění, vyčerpávání a salinizace, atd.

Kolektiv vznikl v roce 1993, kdy umělec Trudo Engels (*1962) začal rozšiřovat svou (roztříštěnou) uměleckou praxi na několik fiktivních postav. Během téměř 15 let, doslova v zákulisí experimentální umělecké laboratoře se sídlem v Bruselu, vyvinul mezinárodní kolektiv, známý dnes jako Various Artists nebo VA. V roce 2009 skupina dosáhla počtu 24 fiktivních členů. VA pracují v tradici Gesamstkunstwerk, ve které se všechna témata a umělecké praktiky jeho členů propojují do společných instalací a projektů.

Don't Worry About Us is the first exhibition of Brussels based arts collective Various Artists in the Czech republic. The exhibition in Nevan Contempo comprises site-specific installations addressing current environmental, social and economic issues. Number of works and installations are part of the project Água com Gas. This ongoing research since 2015 is a poetic study on a number of water-related subjects such as the privatization of water supply, pollution, the exhaustion and salination of water sources, etc. A variety of concepts and realizations are generated by different Various Artists through this research.

The origins of the collective go back to 1993 when visual artist Trudo Engels (*1962) started to spread his (fragmented) artistic practice over several fictional characters. Over a period of almost 15 years, literally behind the scenes of an experimental arts laboratory based in Brussels, he developed an international collective, known today as Various Artists or VA. In 2009 the group reached the number of 24 when Engels joined them as The Late Trudo Engels as he was no longer in power to guide, or decide for them. Since 2011 the collective is represented by Paulo Sudo (cf. São Paulo, and Super User Do), a detached non-artist referring to himself as managing conductor. VA operates on the principles of the Gesamstkunstwerk, in which all the themes and practices of its members are combined in joint installations and projects.
